Comments (0) ShareA dramatic car chase ended today when two suspected carjackers were rammed by a police car before being arrested at gunpoint.
Police in Australia caught up with the couple who were allegedly armed with a handgun north of Sydney, New South Wales.
Officers had chased the speeding BMW through the country towns of Maitland, Cessnock and Woolombi.

Getaway: The carjacked BMW speeds along a rural road in New South Wales as it is filmed from a police helicopterRoad spikes were planted and as the speeding driver swerved to avoid them, an unmarked police car rammed the suspects' car -forcing both cars into a ditch by the road.

Police with drawn weapons surrounded the car and removed the man and woman.
It's believed had carjacked the vehicle in the state town of Beresfield, near Newcastle, local media reported.

The man and women are taken away for questioning by officers following a suspected carjacking and police chaseThey were both arrested and taken away to Cessnock police station for questioning, it was reported.
No one was injured in the operation.
