LOOKING FOR CLUES: CID men with the suspect (centre) at a telecommunication shop looking for clues.

SIBU: A pub worker suspected of theft of more than RM90,000 placed in a BMW car in Keranji Road on Monday morning was arrested yesterday.

He is placed under a four-day remand.

A source said the suspect had witnessed the car owner (his supervisor) counting money in the premises.

He was suspected to have contacted an accomplice, who later smashed the supervisor’s car and ran off with the money.

The money, amounting to RM88,000 belonging to the company together with the supervisor’s own money placed underneath his car seat went missing in the incident.

The police hope the suspect could lead them to the arrest of his accomplice.

They believed the man was also peddling stolen mobile phones.

Yesterday morning, the suspect led police to a telecommunication shop in Khoo Peng Loong Road to look for clues.

Police subsequently seized a mobile phone from the shop.
